HOUSTON – July 20, 2017 – The Lone Star Stroke (LSS) research team at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) in Houston, one of the LSS hubs, is expanding. BCM hired two Spanish-speaking interventionists to help with a multi-site research study that they are coordinating in collaboration with the Harris Health System in Houston.
Video-telemedicine for Self-Management to Prevent Stroke (V-STOP) is now in its second phase. V-STOP II is a pilot study to determine the feasibility of using videoconferencing for a program of self-management to prevent stroke. A larger Phase III clinical trial is set to being in fall 2017.
