AUSTIN – October 12, 2016 – Dr. Steven Warach, LSS Executive Committee Chair, and Dr. Clay Johnston, Dean of Dell Medical School, collaborated on a  JAMA Neurology editorial on the use of endovascular thrombectomy for the treatment of ischemic stroke.

In the editorial published online in September 2016, Drs. Warach and Johnston call for changes in pre-hospital and ER systems of care to maximize the benefit of EVT.

Their editorial was a response to the pooled meta-analysis (HERMES) of thrombectomy trials that looked at time delay factors in efficacy.
